K-1 → Form 1040, governed

An open data standard turns partnership K-1s into structured data, and an open-source engine computes the 1040. But when a form lacks evidence, the engine drops it, logs a warning, and still returns a number. This bridge puts seven fail-closed gates in between. Pick a scenario below and run it: each click is a real run on our server.

What the seven gates check

  1. The K-1 document passes the standard's own validator
  2. Preparer-supplied IDs match the digits visible on the masked K-1
  3. Every K-1 value gets an outcome: sent, attested, or excluded by a named reviewer with a reason
  4. Answers the engine needs are present before it runs
  5. The engine accepted every entry
  6. No form was silently dropped during the calculation
  7. 1040 lines 2b, 3a, 3b, 7 and 8 reconcile back to the K-1 (±$1)
